Laligurans the new championsLaligurans club became the new champion of the Khukuri cricket tournament 2009/2010 by defeating Khukuri club in the final of the tournament. Winning the toss and elected to bat,khukuri made a total of 145 runs in 29.4 overs losing all wickets.Openers feeling the heat became the victim of the good bowling performance from the opponents were only 25/4 at one stage.Captain bijay's 37 and Saroj 45 gave a bit of a hope totalling the score to 146 runs but laligurans opener Nabin and Ashish took no time to crash the khukuri club's total in just about 19 overs with the support of Arjen after losing just 1 wicket. Nabin Gurung was declared the man of the match with his 6 sixes and 2 fours totalling his score to 62. | Old Rivals to meet on the finalOld rivals laligurans club and Khukuri club will meet on the final of the Khukuri cricket tournament which is going to be played this sunday.On the second semifinal of the Khukuri cricket tournament played last sunday, laligurans club beat Ghar Nepal by 7 wickets.Winning the toss and elected to bat first Ghar Nepal club were all out making 118 runs in 25 overs.Opener Binod lama was the highest scorer from the team making 31 runs and Ganesh from laligurans took 4 wickets.Laligurans took no time in reaching the target of 118 runs by just batting 17 overs and losing only 2 wickets.Arjen scored a brilliant 42 runs with 5 fours and 2 sixes.
Nabin Gurung was named the man of the match for his superb 53 runs which includes 2 fours and massive 5 sixes.
The final game between Laligurans and Khukuri will be played this sunday.

Date and Time: 21st March, 11.30pm. | Khukuri wins a thriller and make into finalKhukuri team won a thrilling match and make into the final after defeating Kuleshwore by six wickets on Sunday. Although the match was not a high scoring game, both teams felt the nerves of getting into final. Kuleshwore batted first and made a good start with some aggression from Purshottam (19). He was backed up by Niraj Basnet who scored 52 runs. But batsmen who followed them could not make a big score except Surjan who made 25 runs. Kuleshwore made a total of 136 runs. From Khukuri. Bijay took 3 wickets, Kapil took 2 wickets and Biraj, Dev and Saroj took 1 wicket each. Khukuri felt the nerve while batting when Manish was run out for 4 but a glorious inning from Biraj who scored 66 not out kept their final dream alive. Rishi and Suraj contributed 16 runs each while Subin made 17 valuable runs. A tighty bowling from Kuleshwore kept khukuri under pressure all the time but in the last over, Khukuri managed to reach the total with 4 balls to spare. Biraj Shrestha was named man of the match.
| Final four decided after Kuleshwore beat Biratnager XIKuleshwore won over Biratnagar XI with 31 runs and placed itself in the semi final. Batting first, Kuleshwore made a total of 7/173 runs thanks to a magnificient inning of 81 not out from Niraj Basnet. Biratnagar's bowler Ketan, Mukesh and Kiran took 2 wickets each. In reply, Biratnagar XI also played well especially Mukesh who made 62 runs and Ketan who made 30 runs but it was not enough to reach the total as they only managed to make a total of 142 runs. From Kuleshwore, Vibhushan and Bishwo took 3 wickets each. Niraj Basnet was named man of the match for his 81 not out. Biratnager is out of the tournament and now in the semi final, Laligurans will play Ghar Nepal on 28th Feb 2010 and Khukuri will play Kuleshwore on 07 March 2010. The final will be played on 14 th March 2010. Khukuri Presentation night will be held on 28 th March 2010. | Game between Ghar Nepal and Khukuri called off due to heavy rain, Point shared| Winning toss and elected to bat first khukuri were 197 for 10 in 30 overs. Couple of Khukuri Record has been setup in this game by Kapil with his glorious hitting power. Kapil hit four consecutive 6's in Dinesh over which is Khukuri tournament record. In total eigth 6's was hit by Kapil which is another record in Khukuri tournament. Kapil scored 62 in 25 balls to lift Khukuri score to 197 in 30 over. Ghar Nepal manage to score 71 in 14 over loosing 3 wickets. Play was on and off during Ghar Nepal chase due to rain, heavy rain at the end of 14 over made impossible to continue the game. Point shared between two clubs and Player of the match was awarded to Kapil Chhetri for his glorious 62 run in 25 balls and 1 wicket. | Biratnagar beat LaliguransBiratnagar XI beat Laligurans in the rain delayed match which was shortened to 15 overs each. Laligurans batted first and posted a total of 101. Arjen (29) was the top score despite the short inning. Jayesh from Biratnagar took five wickets to control the flow of runs. Scorecard
Although Biratnagar had a shaky start with opener Prabhu out quickly, Rajiv (12), Mukesh (47) and Raguvendra (28) took their team to first victory of the tournament by winning with 4 wickets. Bowler Gunjan and Ganesh took 2 wickets each.
Jayesh was named man of the match for his 5 wicket haul. | Laligurans continues it's unbeaten streakLaligurans displayed a total domination over the tournament so far by beating one of the strong opponent Khukuri by 6 wickets. Khukuri made a solid start with both openers Manish(30) and Suraj (29) contributing a half centuary partnership in between them. Following batsmen especially Dev (24) and Saoj (26) boosted the total runs and made a competitive total of 161. From Laligurans Arjen and Ganesh took 3 wickets each while Rajkumar also took two wickets.
AlthoughLaligurans lost opener Rajkumar without scoring Nabin(29) and Ganesh(67) took full control of the game. A great inning fom Ganesh made the total easier and quick fire from Arjan (31) and Sudhir (12) finished the game. Saroj (1) , Suraj (1) and Biraj (1) from Khukuri took wickets.

Winning toss and elected to bat first Ghar Nepal were all out for 105 runs. Dipendra Bhandari 23 run was highest individual score for Ghar Nepal. In reply Biratnagar11 only managed to score 93 runs loosing all of their 10 wickets. Kiran score 16 runs for Biratnagar11 and took 3 wickets. Sagun Ghimire was declared Player of the match for his 3 wickets. | Laligurans win their third game of Khukuri competition| Laligurans win their third game of Khukuri competition beating Ghar Nepal by 82 runs. Laligurans winning the toss and electing to bat first scored 231 runs in 30 overs which is this year Khukuri competition highest score so far. Nabin, Ganesh, Arjen and Sudhir scored 28, 51, 26 and 49 respectively to put Laligurans in commanding position. In reply Ghar Nepal were all out for 149,Pradeep and Kumad scored 66 and 21 respectively for Ghar Nepal. Ganesh was declared Player of the match for his 51 runs and 1 wicket. | Khukuri beat Kuleshwore| Khukuri beat Kuleshwor by 73 runs to be on top of the point table with 6 points. Khukuri opener Manish and Biraj gave a solid start scoring 42 and 29 respectively and quick fire 26 and 35 from Rishi and Suraj respectively put khukuri in commanding position as they were 204 for 5 in 30 overs. Kuleshwor chase faced early blow as Khukuri pace bowler Saroj strike in his first over to get rid of kuleshwor openers. Niraj Jamwal and Niraj Basnet try to store Kuleshwor innings with their gutsy effort scoring 25 and 12 respectively but this was never enough as other batsmen couldn't face the fierce bowling attack from Khukuri. Kuleshwor were all out for 131 in 29.2 overs. | Point awarded to Khukuri Cricket ClubAs sagarmatha did not show up today, 2 point was awarded to Khukuri. Organisers would like to request Sagarmatha Captain to take part in this tournament and play rest of the future games. The Committee will wait until tomorrow for Sagarmatha Cricket team's response. Changed Schedule for the tournament will be published on Tuesday if Sagarmatha team decides not to continue. | Club DecisionNepalese khukuri club experienced one of the most unfortunate moments in the event of the cricket tournament organized by the club in this past week. The intention to improve the quality and professionalism of the tournament has always been focal point of the club. There have been some decisions made by umpires that did create conflicts between teams which are unavoidable. However the club promises to keep its determination to run this tournament in a fair and professional way.
Teams/Players are requested to be a part of this tournament in the true spirit of the game.
Khukuri club Board also has concluded the verdict of the incident during match between “Sagarmatha & Khukuri on 27/12/2009).
1. The committee has decided to continue the Match between “Sagarmatha & Khukuri “from where it was ended. The match will be played next week at the same venue starting at 10.30am sharp. If any team decided not to turn up, the winning points will be given to the opponent team.
2. Khukuri club has decided to issue Sagarmatha Captain Rajendra Shrestha with a serious warning & penalized him with 1 match suspension. He will miss the match between “Sagarmatha Vs Biratnagar 11” on 24/01/10. Rajendra has been penalized by Khukuri Club board after he has violated the player’s code of conduct by using Foul language & showing aggressive behavior to the opponent team member.
The board has made it clear that such behavior in future by any player will lead to the suspension from Khukuri Tournament and the team is penalized 2 competition points.
3. Khukuri club also condemns the decision taken by the khukuri cricket team to walk out of the game in such situation. In any case no teams should walk out of the game unless advised to do so by the umpires or the organizing body. Khukuri cricket team has been issued with the warning and any offence by the team in future would cost them competition points.
New Addition in the conditions:
15 All off-field players & their fans are to be remained outside the boundary line during the match. Under no circumstances players & their fans should walk in to the field during the play. “No ball” will be penalized for bowling team & loss of a ball for batting team.
16 Any disruption caused during the Game due to conflicts between players, players are reminded to stay within the boundary until Captains of both teams, umpires or the Khukuri club management have consulted & decides on the matter. Any team walking off the boundary without the direction of above will be penalized with the match points (2) and will be given to opponent team.
Amendment: term 10: Foul languages, swearing and conflicts between players and umpires are not tolerated and would be fined severely match suspension & warning will be given on the first instance. Any repetition of such behavior will be dealt with severely by the Khukuri club including suspension from the tournament. Team’s captains are reminded to consult the Umpires & team management for issue or conflict arises in the match. | Laligurans beats KuleshworeLaligurans send strong message to other teams by comfortably beating last year Khukuri Cup runner up Kuleshwor. Winning the toss and electing to bat first Kulehwor were all out for 105 in allocated 30 overs. Most of the Kuleshwor Players except Pursottam struggle from early over of the game, Pursottam who scored handy 25 runs to lift Kulehwor from a misery. Once again Sagar gave a good performance for Laligurans, this time with a ball taking 3 wickets in 5 overs conceding 16 runs. In return Laligurans Scored easy target of 106 in 12 overs with 9 wickets in hand. Rajkumar and Nabin gave a solid start scoring 28 and 51 respectively. Nabin was declared player of the match for his heroic 51* runs | Sagarmatha narrow escape against Ghar NepalSagarmatha made a narrow escape to get their team back in form after winning over Ghar Nepal by 1 wicket. The effort and courage from Ghar Nepal was noticable when they made a solid start especially from Pradip Panta (43), Binod Lama (26) and Dipendra Bohara (20) and posted a team total of 159 runs. It was a huge improvement from Ghar Nepal after their shaky start in their last match with Kuleshwore when they lost with 100 runs. From Sagarmtha as usual Shashi Keshari was the pick of the bowling who snatched 4 wickets and was supported by Ruben ( 2 wickets) and Aashish (2 Wickets). As expected, Sagarmatha started their inning with real dominiation, both openers Rajendra Shrestha and Robin Tamrakar scoring 27 runs each. But the middle order batsmen failed to maintain the flow of run- losing wickets in quick successions. Suraj was the only one who stayed solid to the game and made 35 valuable runs. Sagarmatha just made the target in 29.2 over with 1 wicket remaining. From Ghar Nepal, Satish Poudel, Kumud and Pradip Panta share 2 wickets each. | Khukuri made a solid start| Khukuri started their tournament with bang, restricting Britnagar11 for mere 48 Runs. Winning toss and elected to bat first, Biratnagar11 cricket club were 48 for 10 in 14 over. Earlier in the game Bijay strike in his first over to get rid of danger man Mukesh and from there Biratnagar11 never recovered loosing their wicket continuously. On one stage they loose there 4 wickets for 3 runs. Saroj, Biraj, Dev and Bijay each took 2, 3, 1 and 3 wickets consecutively for Khukuri Cricket Club. Raghav Shrestha was highest scorer for Biratnagar11 with 10 Runs. Manish Shrestha 36 runs (29 Balls) with 8 fours not out wrap up the batting inning for khukuri, khukuri winning the game in 9 overs. Bijay Ghimire 3 wickets in 4 over was declared Player of the match. | Kuleshwore beat Ghar NepalKuleshwore smashed Ghar Nepal by a massive 100 runs in the second match of Khukuri Tournament on 29/11/09. Kuleshwore elected to bat after winning the toss and all around performances from most of the players especially Surjan (35), Shekhar (25) , Purshottam (20) and Abhaya (28) gave the team a challenging total of 175 runs in 30 overs. Prabhin Adhikari from Ghar Nepal was the top wicket picker with 4 wickets while Suni Budhathoki and Dhirga Shah also shared 2 wickets each.
Ghar Nepal seemed challenging at the begining of their inning with openers Satish Poudel and Rajesh Bista they could not last with Kuleshwore attack. Balram Bista was the only player who showed some resistance with 19 runs and Ghar Nepal were all out for 75 runs.
Purshottam Bista was named Man of the Match for his 20 runs and 2 wickets. | Laligurans beat SagarmathaLaligurans beat Sagarmatha by 61 runs today here in Hurstville cricket ground, Sagar superb 94 was catalyst earlier in the game to put Laligurans in commandable position. Winning the toss and elected to bat first, Laligurans cricket club were 208 for 8 on their allocated 30 over's. Superb 94 from Sagar earlier in the game put Laligurans in commanding position with the help of Arjen who score 26. Rajesh Panth took 3 wickets for Sagarmatha. It was never going to be easy task for Sagarmatha to score 209 in Sydney's hottest November in a present memory. Sagarmatha managed to score only 147 loosing all there 10 wickets. Niraj was only the player who managed highest Sagarmatha individual score of 29.

Laligurans Cricket Club 3. Kuleshwor Cricket Club 4. Biratnagar Cricket Club 5. Ghar Nepal Cricket Club 6. Sagarmatha Cricket Club
A grand Khukuri Night was held on 4th of April 2010 on Marrickville Town Hall, Marrickville. Team players, guests, friends and families and proud sponsors were present at the night making about 250 plus crowd. The program was hosted by Jabin Shrestha who was one of the key figures to make this tournament success. The night opened with an introductory speech from Jabin Shrestha about 7 30 pm. Biratnager XI, Ghar Nepal and Kuleshwore received certificates of participation while runner up team Khukuri received certificates and runner up trophy. Then man of the match was awarded to the players which followed by Man of the Series who was awared to Ganesh Bikram DC from Laligurans who beat his own team mate Nabin Gurung. The winner team Laligurans received the winners trophy and medals. A Dinner was served at 9 pm and about 10 pm danced followed until midnight.
First offical Interstate Cricket tournament between NSW and Victoria was played here in Sydney.
Khukuri Nepalese club T20 interstate friendly game ended today with the NSW team creating a new record.NSW team won the toss and elected to bat making the whopping 229 in 20 overs.Superb batting by opener Manish gave a good start hitting massive 14 sixes and 7 fours ending up with the highest individual total score of 127 runs.He reached 101 runs in just 30 balls which is the quickest century of all times.Victorians bowled just average with Tej and Susanth just taking 2 wickets each.
In reply of the massive 229 runs,the Victorians gave a good start with the opener Shahas giving some hope scored an excellent 59 runs including 9 fours and 3 sixes. Rest of the back up batsman collapsed in no time loosing all wickets in 129 runs.
Manish G Shrestha was named man of the match.
The winning trophy was handed over to the winning captain Mr.Bijay Ghimire by the our chief Guest Hon. Consul General of Nepal for NSW Mr. Deepak khadka who stayed all day supporting this beautiful game of cricket .
